Divya: Marilyn Monroe was a famous singer about 40 years ago. A lot of people enjoyed listening to her and her music. She died at the age of 36, but until now her death remains a mystery. Although a lot of people thought she committed suicide.

“We’re going to have a famous singer by the name of Marilyn Monroe who is going to be at Garage today so come by and pick up a free autographed shirt when you buy something. One per family.”

Sameeta: Wow, i didn’t know Marilyn Monroe was going to be here!

Simran: That’s right Marilyn Monroe is here and if you buy some clothing you could receive a free autographed shirt!

Sameeta: Really well then i’m for sure going to buy something today!

(So the customer buys some clothes and before she leaves Marilyn Monroe gives her a free autographed shirt)

Jasneet: Here you go, here’s a autographed shirt for you!

Sameeta: Thank you so much Marilyn!

Jasneet: No problem!

(So the customer takes her autographed shirt and the clothes she bought and leaves)

Divya: “Well that’s it for today our store is closed now but please come back tomorrow we’re going to have another celebrity here.”

As you saw Marilyn Monroe went to Garage and their sales went up a lot more people went to Garage to see Marilyn Monroe and get a autographed shirt but to do that they needed to buy some clothing and they did.  So where a celebrity goes a lot of people go there to see him/her and if they get something free of the celebrity’s after buying some clothing they will buy anything and that’s how the stores’ sales go up!                                                         THE END!

My current event is about a spirit day in our school that happened, on April 8. It was jersey day! You could wear any type of jersey, from any team, any sport. If you wore a jersey you could’ve earned 25 points for your team. In our class there were only about 5 people that wore a jersey. I was very surprised and shocked I had thought more people in our class would wear a jersey. I guess not many grade sevens have school spirit. Well in our class anyway. Even our teacher, Mr.Hundal had more school spirit than the kids. But then again he was probably looking forward to this day for a long time. He’s a big Liverpool fan and Canucks fan. Too bad he doesn’t get points for wearing a jersey. LOL. In our class the bears and wolverines were tied at 50 points,only. And the cougers got 25 points. Sad isn’t it, we were very ashamed of some people. I mean come on people where’s your school spirit gone? Well atleast some people wore jerseys and got points for the team they were in.

The current event I chose is about the hockey game that was played, March 27th, Canucks vs. Avalanche. In the first period the only goals scored were by the Avs, Galiardi with 6:36 minutes left in the period. And that was it for the Avs. In the second period and on Canucks just got hotter and hotter. Henrik Sedin scored the game tieing goal with 6:47 minutes left in the second. After that it was all Canucks! In the third the Canucks scored 3 goals one after the other. Daniel Sedin scored a power play goal and got the Canucks in the lead, with just 37 sec into the third. The next goal scored for the Canucks was by Demitra who got his team up by 2 goals with 15:41 left in the third. The last goal scored for the Canucks that night was by Edler with 2:10 left in the third and that was it for it for the Cauncks. They had another victory thanks to H. Sedin, D. Sedin, Demitra and Edler! But remember you can’t always thank the players that scored the goals or the players that got assists in this game the big thanks goes to …  LaBarbera… for making all those tough and rough saves that night! He was the bomb! That was the 40th win for the Canucks!! They had a 4-1 victory over the Avs! And the Canucks are back on top!!! GO CANUCKS GO!!!!

Our field trip to the Surrey Court House! We had a lot fun that day on Tuesday March  the 10. At first when we got there we had to wait in the big line up outside the doors of the court house. We waited about 45 minutes outside in the freezing cold weather. That was because there was a lot of security inside they were checking everyone’s bags and they checked us with a metal detector. Once our whole class had been checked by the security we we were taken into a room by one of the court house educators, her name was Lali. She told us some things about law and then she let us go on our own to any room in the court house to do court watching. Once we had watched about 3 to 4 trials we went to the room we were in earlier with Ms. Lali and ate our lunches. Then it was our turn to perform a mock trial. The trial we did was about Regina vs. Harry Potter. In that trial I was the defence attorney and we were acting on behalf of Harry Potter. In the end the decision made by the jury was that they found Harry Potter not guilty. The defence attorney was very happy when the jury announced him not not guilty. In the end of the day we had so much fun that we never wanted to leave but eventually we had to.

I think it’s good that for the first time an native American is voted for president because I’m sure he will make a lot of good changes to the United States. When it was Barack Obama’s inauguration he talked about his past. He said his dad was a very honest man although he was a native American he was not accepted to the country. Also he said I’m very proud to be standing up here and talking to the people of the United States. If I were to vote I’d vote for Obama too because he’s a democrat and because he knows how to talk. When he talks he attractspeoples attention. He wants to be friends with everyone, not enemies. And I’m positive he will make changes good changes!

The current event I chose is ferry rates to drop. In December and January it’s going to be cheaper to travel on B.C ferries. The plunge in oil prices in recent months also this means the remaining fuel surcharge on ferry trips is being eliminated. The surcharge ends December 5th on all minor routes. My opinion on the ferry rates dropping is that this is good because now people that couldn’t afford the prices before probably can now. But this is also bad. Because now that the prices to travel on B.C ferries are going to be cheaper more people are going to travel on the ferries. Which means the ferries will be going back and forth more than usual. So since the ferries run on gas their going back and forth more is not healthy,because they pollute the air more than before. Also we breath this air which is why it’s not healthy for us. And that’s my opinion on the ferry rates to drop.

The current event I chose is the November,  4 ,2008 Presidential US election. In the election Barack Obama and John McCain were both running against each other. This was a very tight election but in the end Barack Obama  won by a couple of million votes. Barack Obama is the first African president of the United States. I think Obama winning the presidential election was a very big and great change for the United States. Also I think Obama will make a good president for the US because he wants to communicate with everyone and every country, he wants everyone to be friends, he doesn’t want to be enemies with other countries, and he’s a democrat. Also Obama knows  how to communicate, he’s a very good speaker, and every time he talks he catches everyones attention. Obama has a very strong  and passionate voice.   

  If I were in charge of the world, I would get every kid to be home schooled and get a chance to walk on the Red Carpet. Whether they’ve produced a movie or acted in one. All the kids will be allowed to take a break from school when ever they want. They don’t have to take any tests that they don’t want to and, they will be allowed to cheat on tests that they didn’t study for. All the families will be living in big houses and no one will be poor. There will be world peace everywhere. No one will be fighting and there will be no wars anywhere. No one will have to work because everyone will be rich, and if anyone runs out of money they can just go to their backyard and get their money from their own money tree. Every family will have one money tree in their backyard just in case they run out of money, so it’s only for emergencies. That’s what I would do if I were in charge of the world.

The 1st best thing about me is that I’m honest. I’m not just honest with myself, I’m also honest with my family and friends. If I even try telling a lie you’ll always find out that I’m lying by the look on my face.

The 2nd best thing about me is that I’m always smiling. Even if I’m angry or sad you’ll never see a frown on my face. The teachers always tell me that I’m a very happy person all the time.

The 3rd best thing about me is that I’m very neat and tidy. I like to keep everything tidy and dust free. I vacuum and dust my room every weekend. If I make a mess I always clean up after myself.

The 4th best thing about me is that I’m trustworthy. My friends always trust me to keep their secrets and my family always trusts me to not tell our phone number, or our address to strangers.

The 5th best thing about me is that I’m playful. I play with my little cousins even if I don’t want to. I don’t want them to say that I don’t play with them, so that I get in trouble after they leave, so I try to keep them as happy as I can.  

  I was born on February 26 1996 and ever since then my favourite month is February and favourite number is 2 and 26. My favourite colour is lime green because I think it’s the most brightest and sharp colour ever. My favourite foods are homemade pizza and mac & cheese because I think homemade food tastes much better than the one you buy from restaurants. My favourite season is summer because in summer we have vacation and it’s hot so we get to go swimming and visit different places. My favourite T.V show’s are Life With Derek because it’s kind of funny, Without a Trace because they solve mysteries, and all kinds of game shows like Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, etc. My Favourite movies are The Halloween Town series, because they’re scary and Are We There Yet, because it’s really funny. My favourite books are The Harry Potter series, because they’re interesting to read and The Geromino Stilton books because they’re really funny. My favourite hockey team is Vancouver Canucks and my favourite player on the team is Loungo. I would say the Red Wings are better than the Canucks but Vancouver is our home team so no matter how good they are, they’re still my favourite team. These are just some of my favourites.
